I have a CanoScan Lide 100 scanner, and have just taken delivery of a new computer with Windows 8. My computer cannot "see" the scanner - is there any way I can use this scanner with Windows 8, please?

Go to this page: Click Here

Under the picture of your machine click on drivers and software.
Then click on select operating system and choose windows.

Click on select version next and choose windows 8.
Now click on drivers to expand it.

Download and install the file listed there.
That is the installation file for windows 8 for this scanner.
