Hi could you tell me what a polypoid nodular malignant melanoma is
JA: Are you keeping a personal medical record while dealing with this?
Customer: yes
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the Doctor should know?
Customer: its1.6mm deep ,Clark level 3 extensively ulcerated , mitosis is 1mm2 that’s it

Good evening, I am Dr Ruff. Thank you for contacting us this evening.

I am very sorry that you are asking this question. A Polypoid Nodular Melanoma is a aggressive form of Melanoma.

I am assuming given the measurements, it has already been removed? Is this in regards ***** *****? thank you

The 1.6mm refers to the depth, also known as Breslow thickness, this implies that the lesion has only just gone into the dermis. Level 3 suggests this is also still within the skin, therefore is easier to remove, and I would suspect given these measurements that the entire lesion has been fully excised.

have had a wle done, due to have a delay slnb but worried it has spread

Okay thanks. The thickness suggests this is a localised lesion.

What do you mean by "delay sinb" sorry?

Customer: replied 13 days ago.
Sentinel lymph biopsy to see if it has spread

Thank you. I appreciate this is an incredibly anxious time. The biopsy is very common, and this then assists in any further discussion regarding further treatment to minimise spread in the future.

How long until your biopsy?

Okay thanks. Has the delay been due to the pandemic and clinics closing?

Gosh, I am pleased you are getting this seen to soon, although can only imagine how long this must have felt.

I wish you well with this and hope you require no further treatment.
