It has been many 5 years since I have torn my left ankle

Customer Question

hello, it has been many 5 years since I have torn my left ankle ligament (there was no swelling or any bruising when it happened). it feels stiff and restricted compared to my right ankle. when doing activities for a long time it will start hurting. when I crack it, it feels less stiff. what would you recommend I do? ( I am 19 years old) many thanks

Do you have an MRI done?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no when I went to my local gp he said I have no problem walking, he just did a physical examination and said he suspects a torn ligament

Thanks for the information

You need to get an MRI

It seems what ever the problem was it has not settled completely

MRI will tell what exactly is the injury and how bad it is at the moment

Sometime the ligaments are completely torn which require a surgical repair
