My 3 month old granddaughter developed a swelling on her right

Customer Question

My 3 month old granddaughter developed a swelling on her right lower cheek about 3 weeks ago, last week she started holding her left arm behind her (it automatically does this when sat up) yet her right arm remains at her side and is using this properly, she has this week started the same with her legs, could this just be muscle problems, we do have scoliosis in the family yet doctors have stated it could be cerebal palsy.

Hello from JA
You need to take this child to a pediatric neurologist.

Ths sounds like torticollis, or tourettes, or basially what is called dystonia.

Yes CP can act like this but would not usually start at age 3.....but it could get worse at age 3.

There is no cure for this so you need a correct diagnosis.

What can help right now is to take this child to a master osteopath.

Cranial osteopathy done early can have a lot better outcome.

Go here to find one of these doctors.

OK. If you have further questions or details, use reply to expert.

Otherwise please choose a positive rating . But, still come back if you need to…think of something later, etc. Bonuses are appreciated.
