52 plate 1.4 Peugeot 206 automatic

Customer Question

52 plate 1.4 Peugeot 206 cuts out when in stationary traffic. It has been checked by 2 different mechanics and had a diagnostic test this week and could not find anything wrong. I was on the motorway yesterday stuck in traffic and the engine and battery light came on and power just went. It restarted straight away any ideas?

Also the car struggles with gears 3 to 4 and revs are very high

Hello, my name is Mark and I will try help you with this.

Mark :

The first thing you need to check is the battery terminal clamps.

Mark :

If you have the quick release type then you need to make sure they are fitted correctly and that the top of the battery post is flush with the top of the clamp.
