Peugeot 306 1.9 Dturbo, 140,000 miles, new belt 2011' new auxiliary belt Dec 2013. Very low on fuel, put in £20 worth, pulled away from station, white smoke lumpy running. Tank drained, new filter. No change. Will idle without cutting out, loadsa smoke, Get the speed up, will run, no smoke but still lumpy. Slow down, loadsa smoke. Any suggestions, for an out of work owner.

From what you are describing and the symptoms that you are having is consistent with a sticking fuel injector which is common and results in this problem.
The fuel injectors need to be balance tested to determine which one is faulty.
