I have a Peugeot Partner 1.4 petrol motor - reg is 09. Emission control system warning light has just come on this evening but there is no audible alarm or message on the multi-function display to indicate type of fault - antipollution fault or catalytic converter fault. Car seems to be performing normally so could this warning be spurious? I desperately need car for important meeting tomorrow about 60 miles away. Dare I use it tomorrow? Please help. Many thanks.

If the car seems to perform as usual without any noticable problems then it should be fine..normally it would be advised to see what fault codes you have..these would need to be retrived diagnostically so a suitable garage/mobile tech with a upto date scanner should be able to determine exactly what going wrong based on the codes they get from the ecu..most common is a catalyst system fault or lambda sensor issue.however even such things as fuel grade can cause this some supermarket fuels can cause problems like this occasionally so if you recently filled up and this wanring came on then try a petrol fuel injector cleaner into the tank of may want to that anyway..but as above with faults like this is very hard to pin it to certain area on the car without knowing the fault codes the ecu has set in regards ***** ***** system..So as above if at all possible before your trip maybe see if local garage can do a quick scan and see whats found...I do hope this helps..If you need to ask anything else or include anything further then please just continue before you rate
