My 2006 pug 307 has just had stop fault come on the screen as I drove around a corner what could be the cause of that

Was there any other fault lights or warning messages/temperature faults when the stop warning came on?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
No just flashed up then went

Ok..Normally your STOP warning is basically a generic warning that coincide's with another warning issue..basically telling you do not drive the car any further..the STOP warning can come with either Oil related problems "check level" / Coolant related problems again check level / Battery charging system / Brake system fault "check fluid level" / basically anything monitored by the cars ecu/bcm...It would be worth checking all those main fluids just incase as well as the main auxillary belt condition wise,tension/battery terminals are secure,as mostly any problems like above can cause the stop light to come on..If it has gone out and hasnt returned and there doesnt seem to be any noticable issues then it doesnt sound like a major issue..Apart from plug in diagnostic to see what stored or history codes are present..the checks above would be the best thing to do as a first step..
