GEARBOX new speed sensor fitted, not working ,off side drive shaft housing +speed sensor , is it renewable .
JA: Does the sensor have a wire-wrapped magnet? If so, have you checked it with an ohmmeter?
Customer: no
JA: What is the model of your '03 Peugeot?
Customer: 1.4 diesel dci
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: ihave changed speed sensor,garage from where this motor came from tried to repair it saying needs new gearbox.
JA: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?

Hi..there..

The sensor and the little plastic nylon drive gear is replaceable..im asuming they have replaced both?

Ok.. have they check without the hall sensor over the drive pinion/small drive gear its actually still turning when they spin the wheel,offside... also have they checked that the sensor is sending back a signal to ecu.. it should be 3 wire 12volt pos, neg, signal out to engine ecu and speedo...they would need to scope the signal wire to see if its actually sending a signal..if it is then the problems going be either the speedo itself or at the main fuse panel/bsi... also note that some of the gearboxes in the 206 didnt have speed sensor on the gearbox,just blanking plate where one should be but instead ran via ABS...if the small drive pinion gear isnt turning that the sensor fits over on the gearbox..then yes it would be another gearbox..you'd have to strip it down to fix the drive internal of the gearbox....
