I have just fired up my boiler for the first time in 6months

Customer Question

I have just fired up my boiler for the first time in 6months however the pressure gauge on the tank is fluctuating up and down rapidly and the radiators upstairs are making a clattering sound. Also the downstairs radiators don't seem to be heating up???

Andrew Smith : Can you confirm the pump is spinning.
JACUSTOMER-2b72z5js- : Yes I have removed and tested the pump and it works ok. I have left the boiler on for a prolonged period and every so often it will cut out and I have to top up the pressure. It's also still makin a lot of banging/clattering noises
Andrew Smith :

Ok, can you check the discharge pipe outside and tell me if it is dripping?

JACUSTOMER-2b72z5js- : It is not dripping but there is wetness around the edges
Andrew Smith :

Can you put a plastic sandwich bag over it and the refill the system and tell me if it fills?

Andrew Smith :

Keep an eye on the pressure gauge when the heating is on
