Hello, welcome. My name isXXXXX will do my very best to
assist you with your question.

What normally causes this issue is a worn or loose lower ball joint on the side that you are hearing the noise. The ball joint can appear normal, meaning the boot can be intact but the joint still be bad. What I would suggest as a next step is to have the lower ball joints tested.

Will check as advised, but doubtful as the car has not long been mot'd, and the steering feels tight with no vibration or tendacy to wander.

I will look at this weekend and will feedback findings.

The clunk does come from the front correct?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

I have had a full 4 wheel alignment check carried out all suspension / steering OK. Noise is definitely coming from front end
