help appreciated please
Hello! Thank you for your question. I am a licensed printer professional with over ten years of experience, and I will be assisting you today.

I'm sorry about the issue. Are you still able to make a copy on the printer (not print from the computer)?

Is the printer connected to the computer with a USB cable? Or is it wireless?

Please reply at the box below. Thank you.

copy printing on machine ok too

So there is no cable connected from the printer to the computer.

What's the status of the wi-fi / wireless light / button on the printer?

Please reply at the box below. Thank you.

No cable connection and I don't own one

status of wifi is blue steady light as normal

To confirm, you did disconnect the power cords from your printer and your internet/wireless modem/router device(s) for a few minutes, then reconnect right?

Can you please try this possible solution:

1. Go to the Apple logo / menu, then click on System Preferences, then open Print & Fax (or Print & Scan.)
2. Select the Canon printer there, and then click on the - (minus) button at the lower left corner and remove it for now.
3. Make sure printer is powered on.
4. Click on the + (plus) button at the lower left corner, then see if it detects your Canon printer, then add it.
5. Test printing.

Please let me know; I will provide another solution if it does not work. Thank you.

Hi done that and nothing was returned so I assume it didn't detect it......

Sorry, on the printer, press the Home button, then go to option WLAN -> Wireless LAN setup -> To other connection methods -> Standard setup, then select your wireless network name and connect. Then let me know if it shows Connected... or failed, etc. Full instructions / illustrations:

, there, click on Solution, and follow the instructions.

Once done, if it shows Connected to access point, then see if you can add the printer again in Print & Fax (or Print & Scan), and print.

Please let me know if there is still any issue. Thank you.
