My HP Office Pro 8620 says that there is a ADF jam, to remove

Customer Question

My HP Office Pro 8620 says that there is a ADF jam, to remove jammed paper and start again. However there is no paper jam and I do not use the ADF anyway, preferring to use the bottom feed paper tray. I have checked the feeder to make sure nothing is in there (there was a one pence coin but not jammed) and it does not rattle! Re-started it at machine and wall plug many times. It instantly goes to the same message every time.
It probably has nothing to do with it, but there was a power cut previous to my using the machine when the error message started. The machine was switched on at the time, but not in use.

Hello and thank you for choosing my experience, if the machine has no hardware failures, and is just in need of a RESET to FACTORY DEFAULT, to restore proper function, and if it still wont work, then its possible you have gotten circuitry failure and the inter-connecting nature of the system as a whole may now be unusable..However, that is kind of extreme, so i think a factory reset will work. Please stand by while i pull the manual and tell you HOW TO do this.

To reset the printer1-If the printer is off, press the On button to turn on the printer.2-With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.3-Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.4-Wait at least 15 seconds.5-Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.6-Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.7-If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the On button to turn it on.8-Try using your printer again.
