How do I connect my chromebook to a Canon MX 455 printer

This answer was rated:

How do I connect my chromebook to a Canon MX 455 printer please. This number is ***** on their accepted list. Not as simple as Windows.

How are you trying to connect to the printer by network or USB?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I am trying to follow the chromebook instructions but the printer number does not appear on their given list and there does not appear to be a simple 'add printer' facility as with Windows.

I understand, but are you trying to print to a network printer or a printer which is connected to by USB?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sorry - connected by USB

Ok, do you have a windows device (in addition to the chromebook)?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Not on my chromebook.

So you just have a chrome book not other windows PC's you can connect the printer to, as alot of the time you can use the windows PC to discover the printer and register it on google print, then when you go on your chromebook it google print has the printer listed.

I have it registered on Windows and can use it on my laptop but really want to print from my chromebook.

When you go into google print on the windows machine does it show up?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Suggest we do a remote session, so I can have a look, rather than playing 20 questions.

Please click here and follow on screen instructions on the chrome book.

As per our conversation please try and add the printer on to Google Print via your Windows machine, and let me know how you get on. Once added via the microsoft machine the printer should appear on your Chrome book.
