I have bought a residential property with my sister. Completion

I have bought a residential property with my sister. Completion took
place on the 17 October. How long should it take to register the property.
What is the legal status of ownership if the propety has not been registered?
We are concerned that the solicitor is not moving promptly on this.

The next stage is actually quite simple compared to the stages leading up to completion. Registration is done by lodging transfer forms with the Land Registry. Sometimes it can take a couple of weeks from receipt.

I do not think you need to be overly concerned about your ownership. Once completion has taken place you are for all intents and purposes the legal owner.

If the solicitor negligently fails to carry out a step and you suffer loss you would have a claim for compensation against him and lodge a complaint with the SRA. A reminder might prompt into completing the next step.
