Customer Question

I have water pouring through my bedroom ceiling. After surveyors, builders assessing the problem they all say my roof is old but fine. The problem is coming from next doors high wall that my roof is attached to. (prob. 5 ft higher than my roof). This wall needs rendering at cost of £2,000 approx. plus vat. Putting flashing on edge of my roof will not work or indeed a new roof. Would be hard to fix on as their adjoining wall is rotten. My neighbours say its fine, there is nothing wrong with the wall and wont take any responsibility or accept any builders opinion. Is this wall a shared responsibility or theirs?
I am a pensioner with little money and don't see why I should pay for rendering their wall.
Could you please tell me whether I am responsible for this wall, or any other help I could get. Thank you very much.

Joshua :

may I clarify that water has begun pouring onto your roof due to poor maintenance on the neighbour's part and that this is only started relatively recently following their failure to maintain please?
