I am remortgaing my property and have an edquitable charge

Customer Question

I am remortgaing my property and have an edquitable charge on it. I am told by my present mortgage co. that this can be removed by a Deed of Postponement but solicitors acting for the new mortgage co. say that it cannot be done and has to be paid off in full before a remortgage can be completed. Please help as I cannot afford to pay it off now

Hello and thanks for using Just Answer.

I am Al and am happy to assist you with your enquiry.

Would you mind letting me know the nature of the equitable charge, please? Is it purely a financial charge?

Kind Regards
