On my deeds it doesn’t show who owns the right side of the fence. My neighbour erected it but says it’s his fence and won’t allow me to paint it. Can I paint my side of the fence .

I did check with the land registration and they said normall the fence to the right would be mine but as it isn’t marked my neighbour would have to show proof if it was his. All we want to do is paint our side of the fence . He told me I would have to erect my own fence. Hopefully this won’t be the case .

It looks like it on the deeds

I will call shortly, will show as withheld.

To clarify - a joint boundary is owned by both.

Consent by both is needed to do anything - even if he put it up.

So if he wants to paint - consent from you is needed.

If you want to pain - his consent is needed.
