Hello, my name is***** hope you are well today. I am a qualified Solicitor, and I will be able to help you by providing you with an answer to your question today. I specialise in UK and Irish Law. I am not always online but rest assured if I do not respond immediately I will respond when I return.
Is there anything else you feel is relevant to your question or anything else you would like to add before we continue?
Can you please tell me why you missed your hearing?
Have you declared your mental health struggles to the Council?
Unfortunately, if you don't pay, you can't stay. Rent and housing charges arrears can lead to eviction. Failure to deal with your arrears after you have been sent an arrears letter may result in you receiving a possession order.
Declaring to the council that you are struggling due to your mental health, they can give you considerations either to give you a payment plan or offer you empathy and leniency to pay your rent.
You will have to talk with the Council on this one and explain your situation. There is no other way going about it.
Is there anything else I can help with today?
Good luck with the Council.
