Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Blank / black screen although the clock is working whilst on 'record'.

Also the name of the programme recorded is not shown.

Thanks Keith

whats the make and model of the device?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Panasonic - DMR-EX773EB

If you connect the TV to the cable your connecting into the Unit, does the TV receive channels.

Just want to rule out that the cable is not an issue (not the connection but the cable itself)

Let me know please.

thanks Keith

We will do a reset of the unit

When this unit is turned on and stopped.

Press and hold [up CH] and [CH down] on the main unit for about 5 seconds

Release and The auto setup should then start automatically

Once this is compete, try to playback a recording and Let me know the results please

Thank you

Didn't work. All that happens in the 5sec up/down trial is flashing between AV1 and AV2. There is no playback problem with programmes already recorded.

If you record a new program, do these play back Keith?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

No. This is the problem.

ok, just wanted to be sure it was not the old programs that were the issue.

It is the internal hard drive that has faulted. This is why it cannot play back from it.

A corrupted firmware can cause this. But we have ruled this out by reinstalling it. We have also confirmed it is getting a signal, as the TV works from the same cable.

I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the unit so they can replace the hard drive. It will be covered by the warranty, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you, but the hard drive will need to be replaced sorry

I am really sorry about this, and if you have problems, or would like any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.

And if you can take a second to rate my service, that would be greatly appreciated.
