My girlfriend of 6 years has recently decided she needed

This answer was rated:

Hi, my girlfriend of 6 years has recently decided she needed some space from me to sort herself out (she is depressed). We were still talking and Ive been as supportive as possible. She told me she still loves me and misses me but that her physical attraction towards me has dipped recently. There is anoth guy who has been comforting her for the last 2 weeks since we 'split up (space)'. She has now slept with him. This is the lowest point of my life and I dont know what to do :( I'm still madly in love with her and im working very hard to improve my physical appearance. I would really appreciate some help
I am so sorry to hear of your breakup and your pain. This is a very tough time and it sounds as if she is confused and not sure exactly what she wants. she wants space then finds comfort with someone else. Do I believe that this other guy is something long term for her? no I do not but I think that because she is confused and possibly depressed she is looking for comfort anywhere because she cares and loves you so much, right now she's not able to rely on you for that and is looking elsewhere. I know that is the hardest thing for you to do but all you can do right now is to let her know how you love her and will do what it takes to get back with her while also giving her the space that she requests and needs. if you come on too strong and push her even without realizing it she can go the other way and cut off all ties which is not what you want, so in the meantime you must live your life, you must take care of yourself and hope that she sorts things out she can come back to you.

Hi Jen, thankyou for your reply. I am going to leave her to it. I've told her I love her and she has said she still loved me. I hope it's true. I will let her get on with what she needs to do and work on myself in the meantime. I'm glad you don't think he's a long term thing, I think he is taking advantage of a beautiful young woman who is confused and needs some comfort as you say. Thanks
You are a kind and thoughtful man and I hope that the space that she needs will allow her the time to miss you and want to come back to you and as we both have said take this time to yourself and care for yourself I wish you the best
