I have hired a building firm and they supply a skip .

Customer Question

I have hired a building firm and they supply a skip for rubbish. I put some old roof tiles in the skip placed on my driveway. I understand that the builder recognised that the tiles had some value (£300 approx.) and contacted another firm who took the tiles from the skip.
I think this is theft as it is my property in the skip and on my property.
Thanks in advance

Thank you for your question.
It is the builder's skip and you are deemed to have abandoned the tiles by depositing them in the skip.
You can't claim theft as you relinquished possession, I'm afraid.
Happy to discuss further.
I hope this helps. Please leave a positive response so that I am credited for my time.
