I am paying child maintenance of £7 a week for 2 children because i am on old age pension. What happens if my mother dies and leaves me £100,000

I am not in Scotland but England by the way
Thank you for your question.
There is no difference. Child support is based on your income. A legacy is capital so isn't used in calculating a maintenance liability.
I hope this helps. Please leave a positive response so that I am credited for my time.

So if i was to receive half my mother's estate in the future, my ex partner would have no claim to the legacy .? That seems contrary to what i have been led to believe on the internet though.

My mother is still very much alive thank God
She would have no claim.
