Scottish Water require to be satisfied that you own the land or have the consent of any co owners where there is shared or communal ownership or that the existing title deeds allow you to connect, eg, there is a title condition or separate Deed of Servitude in existence. Very often title deeds do provide for this, so you may want to have a look at the titles and show them to Scottish Water.
