How many hours a week is a separated father allowed to

Customer Question

Hi, how many hours a week is a separated father allowed to see their children?

Thank you for your question.
There is no specific law which prescribes a number of hours per week. Each case is determined individually and the legal test is what is in the child's best interests.
In some cases the absent parent sees the child every weekend or second weekend, a couple of times during the week and on holidays. In others the contact is far less. It can be more. It depends what is in a particular child's best interests.
Relevant factors include:
1. The age of the child.
2. The geography of where the parties live.
3. Schooling arrangements.
4. The child's activities.
5. Parents' work commitments.
I hope this helps. Please leave a positive response so that I am credited for my time.
