Assistant: Thank you. Can you provide any more details to help us find you the right Expert?
Customer: A friend has gifted me money totalling £16,000 to help with school fees and living expenses. We dated for about two months then became friends.
It would appear a friend of his has gone to the police and they have subsequently visited him (he presumes it was the Police)... Asked lots of questions about me and what these amounts of money were for. Very intrusive.
I am worried that I am under investigation for something entirely innocent.

Why did the friend go to the police to start with?

Why did the friend go to the police to start with?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
He thinks it is a particular friend as she said on a number of occasions I was 'scamming' him. He disagreed with this each time she said this.
Last December he suggested I left my job and he would support me and pay my children's school fees. In April this year he gave me a car for my birthday.
He isn't 'vulnerable' in anyway and has stated in text messages to me that he is motivated by genuine kindness and a wish to help a friend.

It appears to me that the friend has no interest in this and is sticking her nose in where she shouldn't. No crime has been committed, the police will have seen that having interviewed your friend and I would forget about this and enjoy your friend's generosity to you. I hope that help. Please leave a positive rating so that I am credited for my time.

I advised him to go to the Police and he is with them now. They are asking him if he "feels like a victim of crime?"
Expert:  JGM replied 1 year ago.

Presumably he doesn't. That is a stupid question for the police to ask and why they are taking any further interest in this really is strange. There is no crime here.

Apparently they aren't interested and as he isn't a vulnerable adult they sent him on his way.
Thank you for your help and I will post review this evening (which will be excellent)

Thank you. I will look out for it.
