11 years ago I started training ,but then a friends daughter

Customer Question

Hello,11 years ago I started foster training ,but then a friends daughter had a baby and would have been put into foster care .I jumped in with both feet and am now a kinship carer.,and on the poverty line .I also care for my autistic son .My main issue is these kids in care ,where are their human rights .They didn't ask to be brought up in why is there no lawyer who will take on the social work or government to better these kids lives.I am being discriminated against as well ,I do the same as none family foster carers.but they won't recognise this .
Many thanks Jean

I am a solicitor in Scotland. I think this is more a political question rather than a legal one. Have you spoken to your parliamentary representative about the current discrimination between the way foster careers are dealt with and the way carers are dealt with?

tried every avenue even lawyers thought you might have been able to fight for the lids human rights

I won’t. It’s not a legal question. Opting out. You need a change in the law, not a lawyer.
