Assistant: Estate laws vary by state. What state are you in?
Customer: Does life insurance get included in the estate
Assistant: What documents or supporting evidence do you have?
Customer: In Scotland
Assistant: Anything else you want the Lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: No its a hypothetical question just now

Thanks for your question. I am a solicitor in Scotland. Does your husband have children?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
we have a son and a daughter 23 and 22

You will get the house and contents, £50,000 in cash and a third of the rest of the estate. The children will get two thirds of the rest of the estate between them. You should check the life policy with the relevant company. Often these are paid to the widow outwith the estate. It depends on the policy. I hope that helps.
