Customer Question

I have a Snapper ride on mower ( probably dates from the late 80's /early 90's) There is no engine serial number on the shroud that I can see. There is a decal that says 'Briggs and Stratton Magnetron' on the pull cord and another decal that says Briggs and Stratton 8HP at 3600 R/Min (SAE J607)SYNCHRO BALANCED.I think the Carb is an EasyFflo model?. I need to get new gaskets for the carb where it attachs to the engine but I'm not not sure what part numbers to order. Any ideas? , thanks. By the way I'm in Ireland and as far as I know the mowere was bought locally.

On older engines , the numbers will be stamped into the shroud. They may be covered with paint or rust, but they will be there. Here is link showing where they should be. Usually near the spark plug hole, just above it. If that is no help I will also include site showing the Briggs carburetor, may be you can pick out your type.

Thanks for that , it is the carb below.

Here is a listing for similar setup, from Sears. It has the same carburetor. They show individual parts and gaskets, carburetor listed in no longer available. Will this help?

Yes that helps , by the way I found the serial number on the shroud where you said it would be, I ground off all the rust and crud and it was there stamped into the metal.
