JA: What's the brand/model and Operating System (OS) of your smartphone?

JA: How long has this been going on with your smartphone? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Fixed phone on ext has no buzz.
JA: Anything else you want the Smartphone Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Split BT first socket and tried direct socket- no difference.

Can we please try the following:

Try powering off the gigaset phone, pull the power cable out of the gigaset phone, wait for 1 minute, then put the power cable back in. After this try again.

I have also turned the bt router off for at least a minute and then on again. No improvement.

I've turned the router off and pulled out the telephone wire that goes into it. Still got the buzz. Therefore I presume it can't be anything to do with the internet connection.

The mains electric cable has not been tested as I have none the same. I have changed the phone cable and that made no difference.

Going back to your very first answer you called my phone a smart phone. I presumed this was slip of the finger.
The Gigaset is a Siemens cordless phone system with a base and 5 portable phones with their own chargers.
I have explained what I have done with the BT router
