I have inadvertently 'trashed' the format for producing a Word Document.
JA: What application are you using?
Customer: I am used to an A4 format for a straightforward document
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: No. I was attempting to produce a'family tree' type document , but being incompetent I upset the usual settings.
JA: Anything else you want the Microsoft Office Expert to know before I connect you?

If you are facing the issue on your Windows computer, please follow the below instructions to change the word document size settings.

To change the document size to A4:

  • Click on Page Layout on the top ribbon of the Word program.
  • Click on Size.
  • Then click on A4

To change the page orientation:

  • Click on Page Layout on the top ribbon of the Word program.
  • Page Setup prompt will pop up.
  • In the Page Setup box, under Orientation, click on Portrait or Landscape.
  • Click on Apply to box.

In that pop up, under margins, select Portrait and click on paper, under Paper size, click on the drop-down and select A4.

Once done, click on OK. Close the word program and open it again, and you are good to go.
