What are the rules relating to the death of a British Citizen in Spain?
Hi thereOnce it happens the executors will need an oficial death certificate of you and with that certificate they could start the procedure according the UK law.Once it happens the bank, forced by law, block the account if they get know and only the legal heir could take the money. So, the procedure is to get the legal death certificate and with it, to make the legal procedure according UK law and it will be legal in SpainPlease ask if you need more informationThank you

Thank you. As the executors are in the UK is it necessary to have a legal representative in Spain who would be able to release funds from the bank account, to pay for funeral arrangements etc. ?

And just to confirm as a British citizen, the death would be registered in the UK, although it took place in Spain?
Hi there, is better if the ececutor make a power of atorney in favor of an atorney here but he could manage by himself The legal certifícate has To be made in UK and unfilled at the UK civil or person register. in short, has to be made According to UK law
