Customer Question

Hi there , I run a sports betting advisory service and have to watch a lot of horse racing and football to help me with my work . Can my sky sports subscription be counted as tax deductable ?

Hello and welcome to the site. Thank you for your question.

For any expense to be allowable, it has to be wholly and solely for the purpose of the business. You could argue the case that this expenses is wholly and solely for business use and claim your sky sports subscription as an allowable expense for tax purposes.

If there is any private use, then only claim business use percentage e.g 60-85%.

I hope this is helpful.
