had emails from hmrc about employer tax alerts.i am a pensioner not an employer.7th feb had email to say there is an unpaid invoice .rang hmrc they said they would not send emails .these emails 4 in all started 17th dec 2013. these emails went into my junk mail so have only just picked them up .they have attachments which I don't know how to open. if you don't send emails could this be a scam. if not this is a complete mistake as I am not an employer just a worried pensioner
Do not open that attachment. Be cautious of attachments as these could contain viruses designed to steal your personal information.
HMRC does send some e-mails but not when the individual has not requested to receive a response by e-mail.
Please forward it [email protected] and then delete it.
