Our business bank forced the winding up of the company which I was a director of. The business had substantial debt to the tune of £1,2000,000. Following a number of appearances in front of a Judge in chambers we ended up in arbitration and negotiated a payment of £25,000 each (there were 3 directors) for the bank not to enforce the sale of our properties and subsequent bankruptcy. Is it possible to claim any of this back as a tax rebate?
