The mileage rates for use of own vehicle for tax year 2013-14 and 2014-15 are
45p for the first 10,000 business miles in a tax year , then 25p for each subsequent mile.

Are those guidelines and that I can provide for a lesser amount, contract providing, or must I use those figures?

John, thank you for your reply.

These are maximum amounts allowable as tax free.
If you were to use a figure higher than this then the access mileage allowance becomes taxable.

You can provide for a lesser amount if you wish.
