I have sold Executive Shares awarded as nil cost stock

This answer was rated:

I have sold Executive Shares awarded as nil cost stock options by my employee. I had to pay c.12p per share and sold 2500 @ £18.63.
Do I have to pay any tax on these shares?
Many thanks

Thank you for your question..

The gain from sale of shares would be chargeable to capital gains tax..

More information on taxation of gains under Company share option plans is covered under "tax treatment" here

I hope this is helpful and answers your question.
