Customer Question

Hi. My friend has a tax credit £50 during 5 years.
Her income from self-employed for cleaning houses 2016-2017 is £2500. She works 30 hours per week. If we will divide on 52 weeks it means she get £48 per week. It means she earns £1.8 per hour. Does it look realistic?

Hello, I am Keith, one of the experts on Just Answer, and pleased to be able to help you with your question.

Casting my mind back to when I was a Management Accountant in MOD it was computed that of 365 days in the year some 80 were lost with weekends, public holidays etc so the dividing factor is actually 305. 2500 / 43 = 58 comes out at 1.93 an hour. Your figures look realistic enough though. Maybe she should increase her hourly rate.

I do hope that you have found my reply of assistance.
