if you let a property one year and pay tax on the income, then have no lettings the following year, do you get a tax rebate on the previous tax you have paid, in the following year?
JA: Which tax year is this for?
Customer: paid tax for 17/18. No letting for 18/19.
JA: Anything else you want the Accountant to know before I connect you?
Customer: My husband and I used to share the letting income for tax purposes. Now we are on just our state pensions and small private pensions.
