I’m facing redundancy and have been offered PILON for my 3

This answer was rated:

Hi, I’m facing redundancy and have been offered PILON for my 3 months notice. It is advantageous to me for this to be paid in the 2020/21 tax year. If I negotiate my exit date as 31/3/20 and my PILON is paid on 30/4/20, will that legally qualify as 2020/21 for tax purposes? Or does the exit date need to be on or after 6/4/20? Thanks
