Trying to find out whether Ltd company staff ( one of whom is a director), training for professional qualifications, is Tax deductible. The reason for both seeking to do these professional qualifications is to enhance the advice they can give clients
JA: Which tax year is the deduction for?
Customer: 2021-2022 onwards - takes 2/3 years to complete
JA: Is there anything else the Accountant should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: I don't think so-- it's just the question of whether the company can claim the expenses against Corporation Tax-- and a question also of is it a P11D benefit to the employees as it is professional qualification rather than general training

Training to enhance existing qualifications is tax deductible, but to obtain new qualifications, it is not.

OK, so if one has a qualification and then seeks to study for the next level in that area ( giving a higher qualification) that is allowable against CorporationTax? Is there any P11d benefit charge on the employee personally?

No, it's ok, if you could please just confirm the above that would be great- thanks

No P11d under those circumstances as a quallification is bneing enhanced.
