I've just purchased a Z3 (third one). Although it's a 2000 plate, it is in amazing condition and has only done 55k. I had to drive the car back from Somerset to Lancashire and near home, not suprisingly it required petrol. However, I thought I would have enough for the journey and the fuel gauge went well into the red.The engine management light came on and has remained on since. I have looked into this and rang the guy from whom I purchased the vehicle and have been told that this can be a problem sometimes with Z3's and is probably as a result of running it low on fuel.My question therefore is one, is there any validity in this statement and two, as the car is running very well, is this something I need to be worried about.

Hi, I have noticed poping sound when I release my clutch on my 320d. It almost sounds like it's catching driver Matt, which it's not, it's is not happening all the time but does come and go. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I am thinking of buying a brand new BMW with a PCP deal over
I am thinking of buying a brand new BMW with a PCP deal over 48 months. I love the car, like the deal (I think) but is there any issues I should consider over and above the normal. I am a bit concerned as to the way things are moving with Petrol and Diesel cars (government and political impact), the company BMW finance have advised monthly payments and a final payment at the end, but say they guarantee the value of the car to be a minimum of the deposit, assuming it is within the mileage agreement (I know it will be) and is in good condition for the age at that time, hence my concern. I currently have a contract hire agreement and the company (Honda) are desperate to keep me on at the minute with reduced payments (I do like to change my car), hence my question, is the car industry starting to suffer and could this effect (BMW) how they deal with me in 4 years or indeed sooner if I decide I want to change sooner again. Guess I am saying, should I just stick with Honda as it is not as risky or unpredictable (I have a contract hire deal). NB financially I am lucky at present, secure job (hopefully) and while BMW is a lot dearer (new car) my main driver is just the usual, I like to change cars after a period of time.

Do you agree with BMW who state that suspension springs are not constant moving parts of the vehicle? My opinion is that a suspension spring reacts constantly to every bump or hole or undulation on the road surface. Do BMW Mechanics in BMW approved workshops have qualifications to expertly determine whether a suspension spring has broken because of corrosion or metal fatigue?
I accidentally put windscreen concentrate 1 litre with 4
I accidentally put windscreen concentrate 1 litre with 4 lits of water into the Castrol oil compartment in the dark and the car wouldn't start so bmw have stripped it drained it and there was water in the 4 x fuel injectors compartments - I am female. They have drained it all and said they are 95% it should start today once they put it back together - they say that our 5 year bmw warrantee for the engine is now cancelled due to contaminated engine - if it doesn't start then we will have to put in a new engine that is £10k and the car is worth £13k x1 drive 2014 model! We don't know anything about bmw cars! Advice is appreciated
