Name is***** goal is to provide you with excellent service – if you feel you have gotten anything less, please reply back,
When you say slow to start do you mean the starter motor turns slow .
Or the starter turns fast but will not start .
When the engine does run when hot will it always start easy or its hard to start at any temp hot or cold .

Okay test the glow plugs are getting power ,with a good test light connect to the glow plug rail and switch on the ignition (don't try to start)The test light should come on for 15 or more seconds depending on engine temp .If the test light comes on for a second then off when engine is cold then test or replace the coolant temp sensor . Most case for a diesel hard start is glow plugs ,engine compression . Low engine compression is always hard to start .Injectors ,injection pump . If glow plugs are staying ON for more than 8 seconds then test fuel delivery .Could be the fuel pump primer /filter . so on the firewall you will find the fuel pump on top is a hand pump pump this with your hand after two pump should be hard if it takes more than 5 pumps to get hard then the fuel is returning to the tank due to a faulty filter priming pump. Pump the primer 20 times to prim then try and start if the engine starts easy replace the primer pump . Please try this and get back to me if needed . Rgds Greg
