Hi, welcome to JustAnswer. My name is*****’m a barrister with 12 years of experience and I am happy to help with your question today.

I suppose they didn't offer you a blood test?

hello Jo, I am in a real panic about going to court and getting disqualified

Oh, I'm afraid a ban is mandatory.

If it is just 47 then you would only be facing a ban of 12 months and you might get it reduced to 9 by doing the drink driving awareness course.

But the court have no discretion. There has to be a ban

I am sorry but that is the law.

Can I clarify anything for you?

I wouldn't worry about your insurance. That is not the focus here.

I wasn't offered a blood test - just the roadside one which came back at 52, and then the one at the station which was 47
