  1. Content from which source are you trying to record, like cable box, satellite box, DVD player or simpy cable?
  2. Was the same source used in the another TV to record?
  3. Is there enough free space on the hard disk?

try to record from the built in freeview new hdd sp it empty both tv the same both hdd the same other tv when first set up asked to format hdd which tv did and can record any freeview channel cpme tp set this tv up plug hdd in show usb device connected not asked to format when try to set record tv message say not available gone through settings on both tv and set up the same hope this helps
