I have a Grundig tv model GULCD26HDIV. My problem is that when on standby and I press the on button the standby light flashes continuously but the tv does not come on. Can you help please?

KevinWhiteJA :

Hi, welcome to Just answer

KevinWhiteJA :

How old is the TV ?

JACUSTOMER-l3etudzg- :

About three years old approx

KevinWhiteJA :

Have you tried to leave it unplugged for around 4-5 minutes ? Can you also tell me how many times is it flashing ?

JACUSTOMER-l3etudzg- :

yes I have tried leaving it unplugged over night. It just flashes continuously.

KevinWhiteJA :

Is it red flashes or blue or ...?

JACUSTOMER-l3etudzg- :

flashes blue

KevinWhiteJA :

continuously...is that right or is flashing in a set sequence ?

JACUSTOMER-l3etudzg- :

yes continuously - no pattern to flashing

KevinWhiteJA :

ok and does it flash blue only or it turns to some other color as well for a while ?

JACUSTOMER-l3etudzg- :

just blue

KevinWhiteJA :

was there a power outage ?

JACUSTOMER-l3etudzg- :

yes - very short - 2 minutes or so

KevinWhiteJA :

ok....please unplug the unit and then press and hold the power button on the TV itself (not the remote) for around 10 seconds. After another minute, plug the set back in and press power once.....let me know if the problem is still there

JACUSTOMER-l3etudzg- :

ok back soon

KevinWhiteJA :

sure waiting ...

JACUSTOMER-l3etudzg- :

still flashing

KevinWhiteJA :

Unfortunately the problem seems to be with the power supply board located inside the unit and it requires service...most common problem is failing capacitors on the power supply board

KevinWhiteJA :

are you willing to repair this yourself ?

JACUSTOMER-l3etudzg- :

no - a bit beyond me!!

KevinWhiteJA :

The solution will be to get the capacitors, and the voltages from the power supply board checked and serviced....

KevinWhiteJA :

Is there anything else I can assist you with today ?

JACUSTOMER-l3etudzg- :

No but thanks for your help anyway.

KevinWhiteJA :

You're welcome...you can get back to me if you need any assistance and I will help with no additional charges....Excellent feedback is appreciated if you are satisfied with my assistance :)

JACUSTOMER-l3etudzg- :

OK will do. Bye for now
