TV Repair Questions? Ask a TV Technician for Answers ASAP
Hello, I’m Nathan, and I’ll be assisting you today. My livelihood depends on your positive feedback, so your satisfaction is my highest priority.
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble, Mike, and thanks for requesting me.
Could you double check the make/model of your recorder for me? I'm not directly familiar with what you mentioned and not finding any info on such a system.
I can tell you offhand though that with DVR systems when you get this message, it almost always indicates either a firmware glitch (temporary, usually) OR that the hard drive itself has failed (hardware fault, cannot be recovered).
How long have you had the system?
Initially, can you please unplug power to the unit, at the mains for 60+ seconds and let me know if that changes anything?
A
I have just tried this again but no change, Product is Digihome
Is it a DG250DTRA08
Did you receive my response?
Yes I did
I asked again about the model number, I'm assuming you have a DG250DTRA08
Assuming so, then this is indeed a hard disc failure as I mentioned earlier.
There is one last thing to try though,
unplug power at the mainswait 5 minutespress and hold power/on button for 60+ secondskeep holding while plugging power cord back in, and for another 60 seconds after, then release
If you still get the failure or no disc message after it starts back up, then it would unfortunately confirm that the hard drive is defective. There is really no practical resolution at that point, and at 5+ years old, the system isn't worth fixing. The repair costs would exceed the purchase price of a new dvr system.
