Hi, I have a Samsung Television which for some reason has a dark patch which looks like a black cloud two thirds down the screen. The TV is a Samsung Lcd. Please help. Best Regards. Alan Knight.
Hello, my name is***** be happy to assist you.
Please allow me to ask you a few questions to diagnose the problem.
- How old is the TV and how long it have had the problem?
- Can you get me the model number written on back of TV?
- Is it possible to provide me a good picture of TV screen so I can view that dark patch/ cloud which will help to diagnose the problem quickly?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Hi Shahid,I believe the TV is about 6 years old working perfectly.

The cloudy blur has been there for about 3 months but did'nt annoy me until I watched the world cup football!!!!

The number on the back is:LE37A559P4FxxU.

I am afraid I have not got the "Tools" to supply you with a picture of the screen, as at 75 years old I am not up to speed with modern day Techs.

The actual mark as I can best describe to you, is like a dark smear which refuses to clear,is about 4 inches high and 14 inches long.but not the full length of the TV. I hope that helps?? Regards. Alan.

Hi Alan,
Thanks for the info.
- Is the dark cloud appear on menu scree if press menu button on TV or its remote control?
- Also, is that dark cloud always there no matter what video source is being watched on TV?

Hi Shahid, The answer is yes to both questions,it appears all the time.

Unfortunately it seems problem of display panel and most probably the polarizer sheet on LCD screen is causing the smear affect, sorry for the news.
Entire display panel (the screen) will be replaced in TV to resolve the problem but it may cost more than new TV price of same screen size so in my opinion, you would be better off with the new TV instead of spending money and time on this old one.
I wish I had better news about this TV.
I trust my input will help you out. Please feel free to respond if you have any additional questions.
A positive rating to answer would be greatly appreciated, please click on smiley face under the answer then click submit button so I can get credit on website for my work.

I'm sorry but the TV needs a new screen and latest LCD/LED TVs are even cheaper now a days.
