Hello, my name is***** be happy to assist you.
Please allow me to ask you a few questions to diagnose the problem.
- How old is the TV and how long it have had the problem?
- Does the problem occur on all video input sources connected to TV?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Hi Shahid

My client has had the tv since 2013

The problem only started happening three weeks ago.

I've not checked all the inputs but have connected it to the network and tried to watch YouTube.

I can't get very far as the tv keeps switching off after two minutes startup.

This could be a PSU problem but I've also heard it could be a tuner problem.

I'm not convinced on both but I'm lost on this one.

If it was a PSU problem the power issue would be intermittent.

I will check the other inputs to make sure they work and cause the problem to stop.

I know some televisions have a function that if there are no inputs connected the tv will switch off after a given time. But not sure if this samsung model has got these settings

Thanks Marijo for the info.
There are few things that we can try to see if it helps.
Please go to TV menu then Support > Self Diagnosis > Reset > OK
This will restore TV to default settings if the issue is related to any wrong setting in TV.
If it doesn't help then please check following Samsung link and download "Firmware Upgrade file version 1123.3", copy it to USB flash drive and update TV software as per instruction mentioned in "Firmware Update user manual file" there.
If it still doesn't help then it would be hardware related issue and mostly the main processor chip gets internal failure and caused such symptoms in TV and main board replacement will help to resolve the problem.
Please reply back with the result.
Thank you.

I have tried the reset method and no joy.
I would like to firmware upgrade but the tv does not stay on long enough to do this.
Is there a way of making the power supply stay on by overriding it's ps-on voltage point.
Expert:  Shahid replied 3 years ago.
Yes, PS-ON pin controls the main power supply section, either ground the PS-ON pin or provide STBY volts to keep the power board On and check.
It seems we are looking at bad main board in TV which needs to be replaced.
Thank you.
