Customer Question

I have an LG TV which is connected WIFI to the internet, to a desk top box from a Telco provider which provides TV via the Internet (the box is wired to the Internet) and a DVD player. The TV continually turns itself on and off but this is intermittent. It can work fine for several hours and then switch itself off continually for 10 to 30 minutes.

OK your country of posting has not come up (just shows europe)can you let me know what that is

Also when it does shut down does it shut down to a red light lit solid on the front of the set?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Country is UAE and no it doesn't shut down all the way but goes blank (black) for a few seconds and then tries to restart showing the Life is Good logo and the HDMI sign comes on top left

OK what you need to do first is go to your countrys website for LG go into the support section for your model and look for any system firmware that may be available for the set, check the firmware for your set and if necessary upgrade the firmware, in most cases this is happening because the firmware is corrupt.

Let me know how you get on with that ,this is a on-going process thank you

I have checked and the software/firmware is the latest and appears to be installed OK.

Expert:  info tech replied 2 years ago.
OK good work that covers that base

OK the set is definitely shutting down as the logo comes up and the flag for hdmi, so if the firmware is up to date it does not mean that the firmware you have already is not corrupt the problem is with all sets nowadays they do not allow you to re-install with the same version of the firmware the only option now is to replace the main-board would that be something you think you can do yourself?I will provide all the necessary info for that.

Let me know please
